added on: April 29, 2016

Are you interested in knowing the treatment process involved in placing a dental implant? If so, our Allure Dental team is more than happy to help you! The more you know about the details of the treatment, the more prepared you will be.

The dental implant treatment includes three phases, and those phases are:

Phase 1
First, your dentist will place a small titanium post into the bone socket of your missing tooth. Then, the jawbone will need to heal around the post to secure it into place. The healing process could take anywhere between six to 12 weeks.

Phase 2
Once the bone heals around the post, your dentist will attach a small connector post to the root of the implant, which is the section that will hold the replacement tooth in place. Then, your dentist will make impressions of your tooth and will take a model of your bite. Next, [heshe] will send that information over to a dental lab so your dental crown or bridge can be created. A bridge will be needed if you are replacing more than one tooth.

Phase 3
When your crown or dental bridge is made, your dentist will place it over the connector post, which is also known as the abutment. The replacement tooth with have the perfect size, shape, and color to give you the natural-looking results you desire.

Once you’ve completed the treatment, you will have the strong, beautiful, and dependable smile you deserve!
